Jennifer Schmitt works in multiple mediums exploring the movement inherent in the human body while also playing with abstraction in monotypes. She lives and works in South Portland, Maine.

In 2021, Jennifer won the Movement is Life Award at the Palm Springs Dance Festival for three pastel drawings that celebrate dance and motion.  In November 2022, she completed an artistic residency in São Paulo, Brazil at the Cris Ferrantini Art Studio and Life Model School. Working with founder Juliano Hollivier, a professional life model, she furthered her work connecting the human figure and the abstraction of motion. Her artwork belongs to private national and international collections.

She has studied at DeCordova Museum School, Zea Mays Printmaking Studios, Fine Arts Work Center, Maine College of Art.
